The Mike Hawthorn Tribute Site

As well as being a programmer for over 30 years, I'm a dedicated Jaguar nut and a great fan of Britain's first World Motor Racing Champion - the legendary Mike Hawthorn. Being friends with a number of other Hawthorn fans, we decided to pay him the ultimate web compliment and design a major Tribute site dedicated to his memory. Sadly. Mike was killed in 1959 only a few months after winning the Championship.

No dedicated site for our World Champion existed back in 2005, just a set of pages spread around all over the web.

Our aim was to bring together all the information about Mike into one place for everyone's reference and after some four months of solid work, our site was born in December of 2005.

It's now extremely popular with the equivalent of over 600 pages of A4 text and images. Almost anything you wanted to know about Mike can be found there and we are always adding more information. We carry out our own original research as well and have discovered many previously unknown facts about Mike and his life.
